Oak Garages and Outbuildings
We now offer a range of standard oak framed outbuildings to complement our bespoke oak-framing service.
Each model can be adapted to many uses such as garaging & carports, complexes, workshops, stabling, games rooms, offices, studios, secondary accommodation and many more.
Whilst we realise that each client will have their own ideas, our standard layouts offer a simple and quick ‘off the shelf’ solution.

We don’t insist that you have a particular design or modular building, you tell us what you want, preferably accompanied by a sketch or drawing, and we will manufacture an oak framed building to meet your requirements.
The standard layouts can often be adapted to suit a specific use ; partition walls, front panels, personnel doors, double doors, stable doors, dog kennels to name but a few additions which would customise your building.
If a standard floor plan isn’t suitable, please forward a simple layout and we will happily provide a quotation and any relevant advice.
Materials and specification.
Uniquely, we position the weatherboarding and stud walls between the oak posts so as to expose them instead of concealing them. The principle frame is based upon a more substantial structure than is standard in our industry. We use 175mm x 175mm posts, eaves beams and tie beams for single storey buildings and include 350mm x 175mm first floor tie beams in ‘room over’ designs so as to free span the building without the need for internal posts. Knee braces are jointed into the frame where required.
Our joinery products are produced by skilled joiners and are designed to specifically suit your building. Black ironmongery is supplied with doors and windows as standard. Five lever locks are supplied with doors.
A full specification is included in all quotations.
Site erection.
All of our oak frames are pre-jointed and can be erected by a small team of suitably skilled people.
Each joint is traditionally formed, pre-drilled and clearly numbered. A jointing plan accompanies the frame along with seasoned oak draw pegs.
Rafters, collars, wall studs, weatherboarding and wind bracing are supplied with each frame where necessary.
Erection of the frame can be undertaken by our own team of carpenters subject to a quotation being accepted.
Ground works and roofing.
These tasks are generally undertaken by Templars Design and Construction.
